Old Town is the heart of the original Mexican settlement in San Diego and is worth a visit for the historic buildings, the Mexican ambience, the shops (we reconmmend the chocolate shop, Cousins Old Town Candy, near the old sherrif's office), and the lively street scenes. Our son recommended this restaurant and we sat near the woman making tortillas and watched as she rolled the dough, cooked the tortillas and sold them to passers-by or handed them to the waiters as they served the tables. This is the place to have your Mexican meal in San Diego, the price is reasonable, the food is good and it's a fun atmosphere.
