Had to get up and be at the bus stop around 8:30am (I think). The first bus was full, so had to wait for a second one which was running late. Arrived at the main bus depot where we had to cash in vouchers or otherwise pay for the day trip to various locations (eg. Legoland, San Diego Zoo, etc). We left soon enough, but didn't arrive in San Diego until around 11:00-1130am). I met a bunch of Canadians on the bus, and hooked up some newlyweds while we grabbed a bus tour around the zoo (it was part of the day pass so didn't cost any extra). The bus was a double-decker, but it was recommended to stay on the lower level so you could see both sides and get better views in general. The Zoo was pretty big, and you got a good feel for it going on the bus and referring to the map you got at the entrance.

My favourite animal was probably the Panda, simply because there was a mama and cub play fighting for the whole time we were going through. My least favourite animal would have had to have been the snakes. Even all the glass didn't detract from the fact most of them were deadly and looked like they would have bite you as soon as look at you.... yeech!

We met the bus driver around 4:45pm at the front gates and proceeded back to Legoland to pick up those folks we dropped off earlier. We got back to the Hotel around 7pm I think. I went and grabbed some Dennys for dinner and then went back to the Hotel to try and get an early night sleep as I had to get up around 4:00am for my bus ride to LAX the next day.
