“Temperature differences between the cities we've visited over the last few days of our travel have been dramatic.” |
We departed from LeMoore and Travis' House at 10:35am Thursday morning with the goal of getting into San Francisco before the rush hour traffic. Travis and family joined us in a caravan to S.F.
The travel was highlighted by a journey through multiple fruit farms and the Diable Mountain Range on our left (west). We had to travel most of the route in the left hand, passing lane due to the large number of fruit trucks carrying tomatoes and onions. Along side the road we saw pounds and pounds of spilled produce which came off the trucks.
Our travel time between LeMoore and our hotel in San Bruno (just south of San Francisco) was 4 hours and 10 minutes. Traffic was not as congested as LA's but we did arrive before peak - as we intended.
The weather was about 25 degrees colder (with fog) once we got to our hotel compared to our last rest in Santa Nella, Ca along I-5, so Laneshia needed to get warmer clothing. Also, our hotel - Marriott Courtyard--contained an indoor pool and Kynser and Garrett wanted to go swimming but did not have a swim suit. So we needed to go to a mall. We just happened to see one with a Target down from the hotel, so off we went to that mall.
Adrienne's brother(Travis' Bro-in-law), Bo, recently moved to San Francisco so he and his girlfriend wanted to have dinner with us before he left on a camping excursion on Friday. We settled on Fuddrucker's since it was capable to quickly seat our party of 14. We arrived there after 8pm.
As we were walk out of a parking structure to the restaurant a nice gusty wind met us. My dad and I immediately commented that it felt like a cool brisk autumn day would feel in Texas - to which others in our party agreed. The differences in temperatures between the cities we've visited over the last few days of our travel have been dramatic.
I found Bo to be a pretty laid back type of guy. He was also a SF 49er fan - but I didn't hold that against him.
Even though Fuddrucker's is a "commercial" establishment, I enjoyed our dinner and so did the kids since this restaurant contained various arcade games.
After we ate, we all went to watch the kids play video games and Shaunette even got into the action by playing the old 80s game Galaxian. We didn't leave the restaurant until close to 10pm.
I wanted to head to the Golden Gate bridge to see it in all of it's glory tonight but there was low visibility and Adrienne and Travis wanted to get Ayden back to the hotel so we canceled those plans. We'll try to "see" San Francisco tomorrow. We also want to visit my Uncle Will who lives in SF at some point tomorrow.
Good Night - this is Curvie Jr signing off at 1:39am PST Friday July 27.
