Studying Pythagoras Theorem on Samos
October 19, 2006
You might have heard the saying called a2 +b2 = c2. This is called the Pythagoras Theorem. It was invented by a Greek philosopher and mathematician named Pythagoras. Pythagoras, Pythagoras Therom, get it? Anyways, Pythagoras was born on a Greek Island called Samos. He was born in 582 BC. He died at the age of 82 in 500 BC..
So when we got to the island, Samos, we were walking around and we turn a corner and there she stood, the Pythagoras Hotel. Since Stephanie and I are studying the Pythagoras Therom in math we knew right away that this was the hotel for us. Not only was the hotel was called the Pythagoras Hotel but the price was just the right price for us. So we stayed in Samos for 2 days. Our hotel had a wonderful view of the ocean and access to the beach. Samos is the eighth largest island in Greece. If you ever go to Greece make sure to stop at the island where Pythagoras was born, Samos Island.
