Rotorua is smelly... and I mean rotten egg smelly!  Rotorua has a thinner earth crust than anywhere else in the world, and so geothermal activity is aplenty.  I'm talking geysers, bubbling pools of mud, the works.  It's pretty cool, but produces a lot of sulphur, and so, again, smelly.

Anyway, we heard that there was lots to do here so we set out to find some activities.  The first was a Mauri evening.  In NZ they're pretty big on their Mauri culture, and so we decided to find out what it was all about.  The evening was pretty cool.  We got to taste Mauri food, cooked under ground, and were treated to a show type thing where they show their customs and dances.  It was really interesting.

The next morning we set out for our next adventure.  White water rafting was fantastic! We don't have any pics of it coz we had to do it in a wetsuit, and as you can imagine it's not really the place for a camera.  Anyway, we basically rafted a grade five, which included a seven meter waterfall!!! This is actually the highest waterfall in the world that you can raft commercially.... If you're gonna do something, do it properly huh?  ;o)

Anyway, after rafting we were shattered, and spent the rest of the day relaxing, and actually rented a movie to watch in the communal lounge with a couple of guys we'd met.
