Review of Hotel Astoria Palace

The Astoria Palace Hotel is located directly in front of Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. There are 115 rooms and 26 from these are suites equipped with Jacuzzi, TV and safe. On the top of the hotel there are swimming pool with waterfalls and Jacuzzi, sauna and a fitness centre. There is a coffee shop, dining room with a small bar attached and sauna on the ground level as well with a sitting room also included in the reception area.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for one night and two mornings as part of the cost of going to Rio with an excursion we booked with our rep at the hotel in Bahia. The Astoria Palace is quite a newly built hotel along the Copacabana beach front and is about a block away from the famous Copacabana Palace Hotel. Unfortunately, it seems quite sandwiched between two other buildings so a lot of the rooms in the hotel appear very small including our guest room which had to fit three beds! The room did have good air conditioning and the beds were comfortable. We had a buffet breakfast on the morning we checked out and found the food was quite nice. There was a decent selection of hot and cold food including fruit and cereal although we did not get to experience what the dinner selection was. It is quite a fairly decent hotel if you are looking for a good location along the beach front.
