<p>After coming from the Penang Hotel to the Madras Hotel, this was definitely a step up - which I probably should have known as the Madras was listed as a mid-range hotel. I spent the same amount of money as the Penang, although the room was a single, not a double which was just fine by me.</p><p>I was located on the 3rd and top floor at the end, so it was very quiet (except for the calls to prayer at 5:50am!). The room had an attached bathroom (toilet/sink/shower combo), aircon and a small TV. Not much room to move around, but enough to make it work.</p><p>The staff was pleasant enough, although when I asked for a dinner recommendation, the woman looked at me as if I was asking for her first born! Perhaps there was some kind of language barrier issue. </p><p>The location is right in the heart of Little India where all the action is, although not on the main street so the noise level is lessened. From the outside, it has a cool architectural look.</p><p>The hotel offers breakfast, consisting of toast and fruit and 15 minutes of free internet a day (although for an hour the cost was definitely more expensive than local internet shops right up the road). There are also laundry facilities which I didn't use, but looked just fine.</p><p>About 6 or so blocks from the Little India MRT stop, this hotel makes it a convenient location to see the city from.</p><p>Overall, I would recommend this hotel and I was glad to have switched from the Penang Hotel to this one.
