Do not stay at the Backpacker's in Caracas

The Backpacker's Hostel is a not an option if you staying in Caracas.  The rooms are infested with dozens of species of insects, the hostel doubles as a brothel, and the keys are left for anyone to take with no proper management.

I had an SD card stolen from my room because of this mismanagement.

And the rooms are ungodly expensive for what you are offered.  There are not a lot of budget options in Caracas, so plan ahead.

Hi! My name is Ana Maria Vasquez, I am from Colombia and soon I will be conducting a volunteer in Querepare, Venezuela. First I have to reach Caracas and stay 2 nights. I tried a lot to find a hostel but only I can find is the “Backpackers hostel” and by what you say is very bad!! ... Do you know another hostel or hotel that the price is more or less 15 to $ 20 per night. Thanks for the information and sorry for my baaaaddd!!!! English…
