<body>After La Digue, where we left our eyes and souls on, we shipped back to the island of Praslin, another of the most famous Seychelles islands among the tourists. We chose a self catering accomodation this time &quot;Les Villas de Or&quot; situated on the famous &quot;Cote d'Or&quot;, a long white sandy beach next to an azure and cristalline Indian sea. The mono and bifamiliar holiday villas were very nice and modern, fully equipped with a functional kitchen, a barbecue available outside from the reception if you needed it for cooking fishes, a nice living room with a small patio for relaxing, one or two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with shower and bidet. Moreover they were literally three steps from one of the best beaches of Praslin (after the enchanting Anse Lazio, which was unfortunately always overcrowded). You could safely swim in the azure sea and you were not so far from some diving centers which could take you also to neighbours islands (see other report). The only incovenient that we met were the horrible sand flies on the beach which made us mad! Being there in Aug during their winter season (temperatures were great, 27-28&#176;C) we didn't have to complain about the heat or mosquitos, but I was totally defeated by sand flies. It seemed I was kind of allergic to their bites so that after they stung me, a small and horribly scratchy vesicle appeared and it lasted for days, forcing me to use a cortison cream. I tried to solve the problem employing on the beach a combination of an insect repellent and sun cream, but those bastard flies didn't seem intentioned to let me go...as I said it might have been just my trouble...but at least you know...
Anyway, the service in the villas was all right. A kind girl brought us the breakfast directly in our villa each morning at the hour we had communicated. For lunch and dinner things were a little tougher as Villas de Or did not have any facilities themselves, but a convention with the local luxury restaurant Tante Mimi at the Praslin Casino des Iles (see report). For dinner this was probably the best option, as the restaurant also offered a transport service to/from it. For lunch we bought something in the local shops, which were very very basic really...some people of the villas had brought something from home (like olive oil, pasta, some souces) and they did great. I must admit we mainly ate at dinner and at breakfast, keeping the lunches very light (some sandwiches with tuna, tomato, toasted bread and butter!!). Another nice restaurant for lunch/dinner was also La Golue, within an easy reach from the villas by the beach. At night with a torch and with moonlight we reached La Golue on foot. It was a magic scenery, with high tide moving up and with dozens of ghost crabs coming out and dancing at the moonlight.</body>
