Polynesian Cultural Center Review
Christian's review
PCC, a great value for couples and families
I highly recommend the Polynesian Cultural Center as a must-see destination on the island of Oahu because it offers something for everyone: history, art, music, dance, culture and personal interaction with friendly South Pacific islanders. PCC recreates 7 Polynesian villages on 42 acres. Over 1,300 employees, mostly college students, run the theme park and share their enthusiasm and knowledge of their native islands through cultural presentations, food, music and dance. Their Rapa Nui (Easter Island) exhibit recently opened and features stunning Moai crafted by native Easter Islanders.Â
PCC's luau is great. As far I as I know, it is the only luau that features strictly Hawaiian music and entertainment.  Most other luaus mix other South Pacific cultures and music. You can enjoy all the other Polynesian cultures though at their evening show that starts at 7:30 pm (right after the luau).Â
PCC, a great value for couples and families
You will have some time to visit Polynesia's largest native art marketplace.  It will take some time to visit all 7 villages, take a canoe tour and watch the canoe pageant, so I recommend that you arrive at the park at about noon.  If you can't see everything in one day, you can return to the park within 3 days to see anything that you missed. PCC has been around since 1963 and their night show is probably the longest running musical in history. It has run almost every night (during the summer, two times a night) except Sunday since 1963 which adds up to be about 16,000 performances.
