174052 5 Location 552581 <p>The Grand Villa Argentina is located about 300 meters from the east wall Ploce gate of Old Dubrovnik, on the waterfront with views into the south side of town. The hotel was just renovated in 2002 and alongside the Villa Orsula (same owners) offers the full package for a dream getaway. There is an indoor/outdoor swimming pool area (the outdoor pool is filled with sea water and located in a private beachfront area 2 feet from the Adriatic Sea). The walk to the private beach area is actually a tunnel built within the rocks that serves as the foundations of the hotel (just hit 0 on the elevator and it opens to a subterranean pathway). The hotel also offers a workout and fitness center with full spa services, wireless and land internet access (for a fee) and the 4th floor open terrace restaurant allows you to have breakfast with views into old Dubrovnik (if you’re an early riser try to catch the sunrise around 6am). You can also choose to just relax at any of the cozy&nbsp;terraces&nbsp;located around the beautifully kept courtyard areas.&nbsp; We spent a few days out there with a nice bottle of wine watching the sun set on Old Dubrovnik.&nbsp;&nbsp;We did not want to leave!</p>We looked into every major hotel and resort in the Dubrovnik area quite thoroughly since Dubrovnik was the destination we centered our entire trip around and there were no other properties that impressed us as much. We had a double room with king bed and sea view for 6 nights and it was still too short. The staff was very courteous and helpful and provides a great atmosphere to just relax. There really isn’t much more we can say about this hotel except just stay there. In the interest of fairness, we did overhear one family complaining that their room did not have a sea view. It seems there are a few rooms that face the interior courtyard and from their manner of berating the very courteous reception staff, they weren’t going to be happy regardless of anything.
