368186 4 Location 543915 <p>The Hotel Histria is located about a 10 minute drive outside the town of Pula in the Verudela peninsula.&nbsp; It is situated within a guarded complex along with the other major hotels in this area.&nbsp; It rests atop a hill on the southern end of the peninsula and most rooms have views of the Adriatic Sea and the rest have views of the nearby Veruda marina.&nbsp; In terms of location you cannot beat it, we woke up every morning with the light of sun glistening off the waters of the Adriatic.&nbsp; Check out the pictures!</p><p>The hotel complex offers a casino, night club, spa/sauna, yachting/diving, two restaurants in the lobby and a grocery market that is located about a 5 minute walk away.&nbsp; The hotel staff is courteous and very helpful and it seemed like they knew when we were having breakfast (which was very fresh), because every time we returned the room was cleaned and made.&nbsp; The rooms are fairly large and all come with a balcony.&nbsp; You should note all rooms contain two double beds and you will have to push the beds togeher if you want one large one.&nbsp; It really wasn't that bad.&nbsp; We didn't get around to take any interior photos of the room, when you have the beautiful Adriatic Sea out your door, you just want to get out there as soon as possible.&nbsp;</p><p>We stayed right before the high season and many of the facilities were not open yet.&nbsp; The swimming pool was still empty and they were not yet offering yachting and diving services.&nbsp; We were told they would be open beginning in June.&nbsp; We really didn't mind since we're not that into yachting or diving and why sit out by a hotel swimming pool when you can swim in the Adriatic Sea.&nbsp; Moreover, the price doubles during the high season of June - August.</p><p>The only negative point we found with the hotel was that it looked very old and in urgent need of a paint job or full exterior renovations.&nbsp; In all of the respective guide books, it lists Hotel Histria as the best hotel in the area and that is definitely true.&nbsp; But once you see the other hotels in this complex, you will see how misleading statements like this can be.&nbsp; Some hotels were boarded up, with tall weeds growing through the cracks in the parking lots&nbsp;that looked like they hadn't seen&nbsp;guests for many seasons.&nbsp; However, overall, we stayed for 5 days and it was perfect for our needs.&nbsp; It is&nbsp;centrally located to attack the town of Pula including drives up both coastlines of the Istrian peninsula.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> 2006-05-18T07:29:14-07:00 580911115 2006-05-16T17:00:00-07:00 0 -9223372036854775790 233810 1459036 368186 0 151195 0.158155746736284 2006-05-11T17:00:00-07:00 Published 100.0 Great Location But Needs Renovations 2006-05-18T07:45:57-07:00 89790 0
