We
arrived to Florence by train and walked to the hotel. It was really
easy to find and took about 10 minutes to walk. Once you get to the
square where the Baptistery and Duomo are located, to the direct south
of the Duomo is a door with a plaque and the hotel's name. Go up to the
3rd floor (no lift) and ring the bell if the door is closed. Once we
arrived, Kelly greeted us, showed us the room and gave us the keys. She
said breakfast was served between 830am and 10am and that we could
decide the day before.

The room (Rm #2) had a nice, comfy bed,
which was a welcome from our previous 2 rooms in Italy. There was a
small armour and desk in the room as well. No TV. The bathroom was
small, but not as small as our room in Rome. The sink was rather large
and in an awkward place for getting out of the shower and drying off.
The shower had great pressure and hot water. No hair dryer. The towels
are the thin non-terry kind (popular in Italy). The walls are fairly
thin, we heard the people in Rm #1come in one night and could here them
talking, but they weren't especially loud or anything.

The view
from the room was of the Baptistery and Duomo. It was a great view, but
could get noisy. Kelly apologized in advance for noise that would be
caused by American students celebrating Halloween at the bar below. We
closed the double-paned window and had no problem. Since it was fall,
our room stayed very cool and we had plenty of covers.

Breakfast
was served to our room on a tray in the morning. Compared to our last 2
hotels in Italy, we thought the breakfast was great. We had coffee (hot
and enough for at least 2 cups each!), juice, spice muffins,
croissants, boiled eggs and packaged toast. Breakfast was usually
pretty skimpy in Italy, but we made up for it with lunch and dinner and
plenty of gelato!

There is a small common room area with lots of
books, guides, and brochures. No internet available, although,
according to Rick Steves, there is Wi-Fi. We didn't bring a laptop with
us.

When I researched rooms in Florence, I thought they were all
pretty pricey. So, I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for
a nice, clean, simple room, close to the city center and train station
for a decent price and for anyone that doesn't require a lot of
amenities.
