We stayed there for the first and last night of our trip to Costa Rica. They have transportation to and from the airport for $10 and even though our flight was an hour late, the driver was right at the door to the airport to meet us. The staff at the hotel were all very accommodating and friendly.
We stayed in one of the roadside rooms which can get a little noisy in the mornings with the traffic and trucks coming down the hill but it didn't bother us since we had to wake up early. There are other rooms available away from the roads if you like your beauty rest.
The rooms were simple and clean. The second time we stayed, our room was a little nicer and had satellite TV but the lighting in the room could have been better. There was a light bulb missing in the bathroom and the bedside lamp had a florescent bulb.
There is a Marilyn Monroe themed bar that is a fun place to meet other travelers as well as a restaurant upstairs. We didn't see the restaurant area but you can also eat in the bar area (as we did). The dinner that we had from the restaurant was a bit on the expensive side and not as good as other meals we had during our vacation around the country.
The only problem we had was a discrepancy on our food/bar bill. We were charged an extra $20 for wine that we did not order or drink but the manager took the charges off our bill when we checked out the next morning.
The grounds of the hotel are all very lush and have some trails for a short walk around the property
A wonderful buffet breakfast is included and is served by the pool. Breakfast included rice, potatoes, fried yucca, sausage, orange juice, yams, plantains, coffee, as well as a made to order omelets and pancakes. There was a parrot climbing on the fence and there were also an aviary with three beautiful toucans nearby.
The grounds are also very lush with some trails good for a short walk.
