369682 4 Location 520480 <p>This hotel has just been refurbished and renamed from the old Hotel Ferringhi.&nbsp; It is the same on the outside but the inside is quite modern and attractive, including the rooms.&nbsp; We stayed during independence weekend so the prices were worse than usual, ranging 170-220 ringgit per night.&nbsp; The sheets are awesome and soft and all the interior furniture is new and modern.&nbsp; There's a partial view of the ocean from each room's ledge with cheapy plastic chairs to sit on.&nbsp; The bathroom is decent, but some of the paint was chipping off the bathtub.&nbsp; The pool is lovely with a poolside masseuse if you so desire.&nbsp; Opted out of the breakfast for 20 RM more a day as there's so much to eat around.</p><p>Location was definitely the biggest setback.&nbsp; You must take transportation to get to downtown anywhere.&nbsp; To get into the mainstrip and beach of Ferringhi you must take a cab which despite negotiating with a Malaysian was always 10 RM for a mile cab ride.&nbsp; Hotel has a free shuttle into town 3 times per day but it takes 20 minutes to get there.&nbsp; Don't expect to enjoy the beach here either.&nbsp; The beach is accessed by crossing a bridge over the road, walking past a bus stop and then the beach is right in front of a restaurant where only locals eat and stare at you while the waves come crashing in.&nbsp;</p> 2007-09-02T16:47:15-07:00 1228931123 2007-09-02T17:00:00-07:00 0 16 218798 5452067 369682 0 151912 0.0 2007-08-29T17:00:00-07:00 Published 0.0 2007-09-02T16:55:23-07:00 101430 0
