368410 5 Location 521191 <p>The Hotel Luis de Leon is one of a chain of Silken Hotels in Spain, this one the equivalent to a Holiday Inn.&nbsp; Its "star" rating in the Spanish system is 4 stars, but the scale is not the same as in the US, so don´t expect the Ritz Carlton.&nbsp; But for me, it is the very lap of luxury, after several small hotels and many pilgrim hostels.&nbsp; Don´t get me wrong, I have loved both of these types of accommodation, but once in awhile it is nice to get a free bottle of shower gel and soak in a hot bath.</p><p>My single room was actually set up as a triple, two beds with an extra substantial cot added.&nbsp; I fought the impulse to rush over to the pilgrim albergue and round up a couple of pilgrims to fill up the empty spaces.</p><p>The bathroom was big, and I strung my nylon clothesline across it and washed and hung some of my clothes.&nbsp; That is one regular thing on the camino, every pilgrim washes clothes every day or so.&nbsp; The room had so many towels, I could wring out each piece of laundry until it was nearly dry.</p><p>The staff at the Luis have all been fabulous.&nbsp; They have provided directions, amade telephone calls, and helped us in every way they could.&nbsp;</p><p>The location is about 10 minutes´walk from the old city, and there are numerous restaurants around.&nbsp; It´s near the bullring, the football stdium, and El Corte Ingles, the large department store in Spain.&nbsp;</p><p>A great stay so far!</p> 2007-06-18T01:57:34-07:00 564134016 2007-06-18T17:00:00-07:00 0 -9223372036854775790 217532 4813006 368410 0 193080 0.0781404083723884 2007-06-16T17:00:00-07:00 Published 30.0 Friendly Staff 2007-06-18T03:52:18-07:00 97199 0
