Tom's Home Cookin' is great southern comfort food at a fun location. The entire restaurant is decorated with old signs and is dotted with tables for two.

The restaurant opens at 11:00AM, and there is usually a line out the door. They close at 3:00 PM or whenever they run out of food. This restaurant is unique in that aspect, and in that they decide what to make each day and post a menu. You choose an entree, two sides and a bread item. Your meal also comes with your choice of small drink. Everything is served in styrofoam containers with plastic utensils...even if you're going to eat in the dining room. It's very casual.

The food is nothing short of amazing! The fried chicken and corn bread reminds me of home (home for me is Virginia). I've also tried the collard greens, mac and cheese and Coca-Cola cake. It's pure comfort food, and the price is right! A typical meal is about $10. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The only con I can think of is that the resturant only accepts cash. I always have to remember to stop at the bank on the way to lunch so I can pay for it.
