The Place at Cayou Cove is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast tucked away in Deer Harbor. There are no signs telling you where it is, so pay attention to the directions provided on the website! Once you head down the gravel drive and park you are tucked away in a secluded area of the cove. We were welcomed by the proprietor's two dogs, who are very friendly. The grounds are beautiful with a stream running though, a garden, and lots of trees.

We stayed in the Gardener's cottage, which is the smallest cottage, but also seemed the most private. Its tucked back in a corner of the property. The cottage has a front yard area with two chairs right on the edge of the cove. a table and chairs sit on the covered front porch and a private two person hot tub is just off the front porch. There was a firepit in the yard as well with a grill that could be put over it if you wanted to cook outside.

The cottage is one large room with a sitting area in front of the fire, a kitchen lining the side wall, and a king bed. An open area comes off this room with a sink and closet area. The bathroom opens off of this. Although it isn't a huge space, its well designed and never seemed to be to small. The bathroom had its own heater and had one of the most amazing showers I have ever used. It was a very wide shower with shower heads on each side. One side was an adjustable height

and the other side could be taken off the wall and used as a handheld. In the center of all this was an oversized rain type shower head. To accompany your shower was lavender body wash and shampoo from Pelindaba. Fluffy oversized towels made the shower perfect. Warm robes and slippers were also provided.

The bed was amazing with high threadcount sheets, tons of pillows, and lots of heavy quilts. The bed was topped with a feather mattress topper that you could snuggle into. At the foot of the bed was a long couch in front of the fireplace. The kitchen, running along side the room, was nicely furnished with a coffee maker, coffee grinder, microwave, toaster oven, microwave, 2 burner stove top, and fridge. The dishes were very nice and there was even a whole set of stainless steel pots and pans to cook with. We never did cook anything ourselves in the kitchen.

Breakfast was included daily, delivered to your cottage at a time of your choosing between 8am and 10am. The breakfasts were all amazing and I wrote about each one in my trip report. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and microwave popcorn was stocked in our room when we checked in.
The room had a woodburning fireplace. When the room was made up each day, the fire was set up as well, so that all you had to do was light it. Extra wood, kindling, and newspaper was included inside the room, as well as extra wood stacked outside.
We walked by the other cottages as well. The carriage house is off to the side of the main house (where the proprietors live). The back of the cottage is near parking and it isn't right on the water. The front is arranged so that you have privacy from anyone walking by. It does appear to be larger than the gardener's cottage. The Cove Cottage is next to the Gardener's cottage, but they are arranged that neither infringes on the other's privacy. The Cove cottage will sleep up to 4 and is much larger than the Gardener's cottage.
All the cottages and grounds are non-smoking and they do allow dogs for an additional fee. They also offer pick up from the airport and ferry terminal. To be honest, it would be a hard place to stay without a car as most of the shops and restaurants are in Eastsound, which isn't within walking distance.
We enjoyed our stay and certainly plan to stay here again!
