384649 3 Location 512136 <p>It was probably an only chance to see a military show of <span style="font-style: italic">Air Defence Missile</span><span style="font-style: italic"> Brigade</span> on my own eyes... Thanks to this trip I made January 11th I did find the treasure of the Strakonice Town in southern Bohemia. I could not find the barracks where there the show supposed to be present, and during the while I looked the right way to find it and get the destination of the day, I passed by amazing part of the town, so the main square and the Castle. So, I have to notice the most important about&nbsp; Strakonice, so it is its deep history, include the ancient settlement, the hussite movement, the Middle Ages, and also the whole history that shall be seen in the local <span style="font-style: italic">Museum of central Otava </span><span style="font-style: italic">Region</span> right in the Castle, which is an unique historical and architectural landmark. The first written reference under Strakonice dates back to the year 1235. The Castle was owned by the noble family of Bavor from Strakonice up to 1243 when the family donated a part of the castle to the <span style="font-style: italic">Maltese Knights</span>. Since then the castle was held by the same owner for almost 700 years. The co-existence of the secular and church authorities on one castle lasted for almost 150 years. Both their symbols – the Bavor bullet and the Maltese cross are basic symbols of the Strakonice town flag now. Since 1402 was the entire Castle held by the Maltese Knights – the Knights of St. John´s Order. The castle area was gradually rebuilt so you can find examples of several building styles here. The architectural development was terminated by the Baroque style of a Chateau in the eastern part in 1714 – 1721.</p><p>The town is situated at the foothills of Šumava mountains at the confluence of Volyňka and Otava rivers on the road between České Budějovice and Plzeň - Two southern Bohemia cities famous by its Brewery - the <span style="font-style: italic">Budějovický Budvar</span> and the <span style="font-style: italic">Pilsner Urquell</span>.</p><p>Since the year 2005 Strakonice town is owner of the Brewery as well... There they brew two kinds of beer "Dudák and "Nektar". This kinda beers are realy no too shabby, and they famous in the whole Czech Republic and abroad. Members of the Air Defence Missile Brigade have an important share in the activity and creativity of the state, self - managing and social institutions charitable activity titled "Terry Fox Race".
