370802 4 Location 496433 <p>I have to say, my first impression and last impression of the Kencil Guest House were very different. When</p><p>I first saw my room, which was one of 4 single rooms in a row literally walled up as part of the living room, with no window (although as a mixed blessing the outer and inside walls did not go up to the ceiling) and a very dim lit and no outlets, but an overhead fan, I was a bit depressed. <br /></p><p>However, the rest of the guest house was very nice, with the living room to hang out in (but can get noisy at night if folks aren't too concious of those sleeping just feet away), an open courtyard to pass through on the way to the kitchen and the bathrooms (one toilet only and one toilet/shower combo) and finally a garden outback with shade. I believe there was also a roofdeck, although since my room was on the first floor, I never made it up there. <br /></p><p>The location was the biggest issue being quite far from the main action of chinatown and on a very busy street where you have to play frogger when trying to cross from one side to the other. <br /></p><p>Agnes who looked after the guest house was very nice and very helpful. <br /></p><p>So, as I mentioned, by the time I left, I became quite fond of this guest house and even the small room was charming enough.
