136330 5 Location 487025 <p>One of our best ever family vacations.&nbsp; Staying in one of this company's catered chalets provided for the best experience that our family has ever had.&nbsp; We had nothing to worry about from the moment we arrived at the Steamboat airport.</p><p>We were chaufeurred to the chalet in a couple of Suburban's, walked into the sight of hor's d'oeuvres on the counter, with kids dinner already prepared, and the reduction sauce for our three course dinner simmering in the background.&nbsp; No schlepping to the supermarket, ski store (they had skis delivered to us), lift ticket office (they were already ordered and waiting at the chalet) etc etc.&nbsp;</p><p>Our private chef and chalet staff took care of the meals; treated us like kings and we actually felt like were were on vacation - not a given for ski trips we had done in the past.&nbsp; They ran and fetched us from the lifts, organized a trip to the hot springs (don't miss this), booked dog sledding and snow mobiling.&nbsp; We loved having our personal guide to the area so that we could eliminate the guesswork of coming to another destination.</p><p>Is it pricey? - you might think so until you analyse the full cost of our last trip to Beaver Creek.&nbsp; My wife is the type to record it all on a spreadsheet, and when we added it all up, lodging, food, rental cars, gas, airport fees, parking fees, lift tickets, ski school and everything this really wasn't that much more (she made a convincing case!), for a WHOLE lot more vacation time and an experience that was 100 times better.</p><p>Looks like we'll be going nack to Steamboat this winter as this kind of service doesn't seem to be available anywhere else.</p> 2006-05-25T09:19:00-07:00 815890442 2006-03-16T16:00:00-08:00 0 -9223372036854775790 185490 1493739 136330 0 0.237605529055137 2006-03-09T16:00:00-08:00 Published 160.0 The most awesome ski lodge 2006-05-27T00:53:47-07:00 47394 0
