The dishes are prepared so fast that we decided the wait staff must be deliberately leisurely in order to fill the usual length of a dinner. Then came hot moistened towelettes before the arrival of the awesome platter- The Vegetarian Combo. With as much injera as we wanted, we dug into the various plops of wat stews and colorful tibs. The flavors were delicate and savory. Spices were executed delectably. Everything but the collored greens was fabulous, however I think that that particular leaf is best stewed in pig lard anyway. The ambience was also disarmingly casual, thankfully so when there are no utensils. The crowd was satisfied, and therefore a pleasure. I don't spend much time processing my restaurant environment as long as I'm comfortable, but as long as that food stays the same I'd eat it from the schawarma guy. Ghenet is located in SoHo.
