Arrived at The Rambagh Palace late morning and decided that we would
have a complete R7R here for the rest of the day. This wasn't a hard
decision to make as the hotel was a Royal Palace turned into a hotel
with 30 odd acres of grounds and was simply stunning. I blogged for a
few hours in the afternoon to catch up on Udapuir while Marie went to
the pool. Decided to have a bit of a snooze in the afternoon as we have
had several really full on days and we have a big guided tour coming up
the next day.

We booked into the terrace restaurant to watch
the dancing entertainment in the evening. Surrounded by the soft lights
we had a table on the lawn and also had a view of a tent that had been
erected in the grounds for a group that was being entertained that
night. The tent looked magical with lights twinkling in the night and
you could see all the beautiful rich colours and the staff in their
stunning costume. Our waiter told us that the group would be arriving
on camels, horse drawn buggys and Elephants and he would let me know
when it would start.

The dancers were completely different from
the show we were given in Udapuit and I was glad we made to effort to
dine at this time. really skilled dancers. Ordered our meal from an
amazing menu and settled back to watch the entertainment - cosmopolitan
in one hand and camera in the other.

Then amid a famfare of
trumpets the visitors stared to arrive at the function. Like nothing I
have ever seen before! The camera ran out and I video'd the whole
procession. The buggys, camels and elephants were decked out
extravagantly and it was utter magic.

The hotel service was
superb. The next day they made us a packed lunch to take on our tour
and the staff were - as they have been everywhere - uttely delightful
and helpful.

This place was like stepping into a dream.
