<body>The Old Bangkok Inn is located in the older part of Bangkok (surprising, right?) :). This wonderful little bed and breakfast was a pleasure to stay at. The owner, Nantiya is very involved and amazingly helpful.

It is a bit tricky to find, so we booked our transportation from the airport through the Inn. They used AOT Limo and we were greeted with our name on a sign right when we exited the customs area. We were quickly loaded into a car and since traffic wasn't that bad, it wasn't long before we arrived.

There were glasses of ice cold lemon tea waiting for us and check in was done while we were seated on a couch. While we were sipping our tea and filling out the paperwork, our bags were taken up to our room.

We stayed in the orchid room. It is a loft room with a computer (complete with high speed internet access), closets, and bathroom on the lower level and the sleeping area on the upper level. The steps to the upper level are a bit steep, but not to bad. The room is beautifully decorated. There is an air conditioner and small fridge in the room as well. The room looks like someones bedroom with nice decorating touches, in contrast to being a plain hotel room.

Breakfast is served in the lobby every morning and it is a real feast. Lots of different types of fresh fruit. The staff is very helpful and most of them spoke English very well. There is always someone on duty at the front desk. The assistance from the staff here is what really sets this place apart. Nantiya is part host and part trip planner/tour guide. She is helpful with suggestion for what to do each day and is more than willing to make reservations at locations for you. Her spa recommendation was awesome!

The one downside can be the location. You are close to the some sightseeing areas, but if you want to go across town, traffic is horrible. The skytrain and subway are not convenient from here.

If you are looking for the amenities of a large hotel; pool, gym, hot tub, room service, and so on, then this isn't the place for you to stay. If you want somewhere unique with a personal touch I would highly recommend the Old Bangkok Inn.</body>
