360269 5 Location 461176 Elephant Nature Park, situated north of Chiang Mai, is run by an incredibly woman, Lek.  Lek has founded ENP to stop the traditional tourist traps of elephant parks.  She has rescued elephants from previous tourist parks and illegal logging industries.  ENP is set up more as an elephant sanctuary as opposed to a tourist park, but to help raise money (Lek uses her own money to rescue these elephants).  Many people come from all over the world and donate their time and actually stay at the park--run farm-like chores, help take care of the elephants, etc.  You won't see chains on these elephants and you can't ride them (those contraptions you see only work to hurt their spine).  You CAN feed them, learn about them and bathe them!!
