<body>The Conrad Residence is really a hotel within a hotel. It has a separate check in area and entrance from the Conrad (although the two are connected) and you can only access the residence rooms from a specific set of elevators found in the Conrad lobby. The rooms physically occupy about 9 floors in the middle of the hotel (the rest of the hotel rooms are above you). What sets these rooms aside from the standard rooms at the Conrad is that they are small apartments. Each room consists of a kitchen (with a full size fridge and freezer), a living/dining room, bedroom, and large bathroom. Most of the rooms are one bedroom, but they have a few two bedroom rooms as well.

We arrived at the hotel and got dropped off at the main Conrad entrance. Not knowing at the time that there was a separate check in area for the residence, we headed to the main desk. They noted that we were staying in the residence and the check in clerk personally walked us over there. We had dropped off luggage to be stored a few days before and as were checking in, the doorman went and got our luggage. He took us and our luggage up to our room. He showed us how everything worked in the room and left us to get settled in.

The kitchen is large with a full size fridge/freezer, a stove top, microwave, electric tea kettle, and sink. The hotel stocks the room with multiple bottles of water complementary and these are replenished daily. The fridge also houses many different drinks that are part of the in room refreshments (minibar). These were fairly expensive by cost of things here and we didn't use any of them. The only bottles of water that are complementary are the ones that have a Conrad label on them. There are other brands provided for a few in the fridge. There were a number of snacks on the counter as part of the in room refreshments as well. This was the most complete selection I have ever seen of things that you might want to purchase. It even included condoms, which was a new one on me to find stocked in the room. The kitchen also had place setting for four and lots of cooking pans, pots, and utensils.

The dinning/living room is spacious with a dining table for four, a couch, chair, and TV with DVD player. The room also has a floor to ceiling window. We had a very nice view of the pool.

The bathroom was large with a large tub, large shower, two sinks, and lots of drawer space. It even had a rubber elephant for the bath tub! The towels with thick and plush and there were lots of them.

The bedroom had a King size bed, desk, and TV. There was lots of drawer and closet space in there. The one annoying thing is that internet at the hotel is provided by plugging in your computer (not wireless). The only access point is at the desk in the bedroom. Having internet access at the desk was nice, but the bedroom wasn't always the most convenient place to be using the internet from. They hotel charges for internet. You sign up at the desk and they provide a cord. There are daily, weekly, and monthly packages. When we were there all you needed was the cord to connect to the internet. A wonderful added bonus to the rooms here is that you can use the washers and dryers here for free. They are found on almost all of the residence floors. You do have to provide your own laundry detergent. We were able to do all of our laundry here and then were good for the rest of our trip.

The pool area was very nice and can be accessed from the residence elevators. The one downside is that the pool doesn't get that much sun during the day as the building gets in the way of the sun. It has, what seems to be a feature in Thailand, a small pool that had jets and looked like a hot tub, but wasn't that hot. There is a staff member at the pool to provide you with towels and bottled water. There is a bar/restaurant poolside. You access the tennis courts from the pool area as well. The gym and spa are found as the same floor as the pool, but we didn't use the services of either.

The hotel is connected to a small mall and it contains a grocery store. This makes stocking the kitchen very easy! We fixed own breakfast daily. The hotel runs a shuttle to the nearest skytrain station and it runs about every 15 min. The shuttle starts from the front of the mall, and stops at both entrances to the hotel. We usually walked to the mall since the shuttle would sit there until it was time for it to leave.

When we stayed here, a 7 day minimum stay was required to take advantage of the residence rooms. We loved having the space as well as a kitchen, so this wasn't a problem for us. I would assume that the regular Conrad rooms were very nice as well. The Conrad is part of the Hilton family and participates in the HHonors program. I am not sure how many points a free night is though. I would definitely stay here again!</body>
