<body>In downtown Charleston, in an old factory remade into a unique hotel. This hotel, and the city, are once in a lifetime experiences that you are sure you will return to many times, and you should if you can. Some rooms are on two levels, with a second bedroom on a balcony level. The hotel is across from the old Charleston Railroad Station. Down the street is what is left of one of the first, if not the first, steam engines manufactured in the United States, reconstructed many years ago and on display. Nearby is a reconstruction of the first submarine in history to go into action and claim a victory, though the crew perished. The old city is breathtaking and architecturally unique. See the house one father gave to his daughter on her return from her honeymoon. We should all be so lucky! Besides that you can visit the place where the Civil War started, Fort Sumter, in Charleston Harbor, and if your timing is right, tour some of the old houses that owners open to the public in March of each year. Wonderful experience. Come in the spring. Superb restaurants. Walking tours. A breath of the Old South for all jaded northerners.</body>
