From Tuesday - To Market, To Market in London, United Kingdom on Dec 05 '06
I was very interested in seeing markets, whether they be farmers' markets (with fruits and vegetables) or the swap meet kind, where they have old junk or the antique kind, where they have fine collectibles. Why? To see the people.
Brick Lane had a market and a couple of well-known places to find a bite to eat. It is also the home of The Ten Bells, a pub that Jack the Ripper was known to frequent...or at least hang around. The Petticoat Street Market and the Leadenhall Market was around.
My friend and I stopped in a vintage shop or two on Brick Lane and found them to be less vintage...well, 60s was about as old as it got. (I prefer older, but that's fine). I actually found a sweet little dress that could be worn alone or could be worn with slacks (even tho I hate that style, this actually looked okay). My friend found a nice bustier that she purchased. We had a good time walking around, even though it was raining a little.
