Toyota City Showcase is part of Toyota Mega Web, which is a car theme park for adults created by – you guessed it right - Toyota. The major attraction is a huge collection of Toyota and Lexus cars on display – all of them open for sitting in, kind of like permanent car show. Yet it is quite different from what Toyota presented at the San Francisco Car Show in December 2005.

First of all, almost all cars, save for Camry and Prius, are named differently. Secondly, there are cars, such as Crown and Alphard that are not sold in the USA. And thirdly, there are models currently selling in Japan that the USA will see a year from now at best. There are also lots of technical displays including one explaining in detail what a Prius and a camel have in common (no, I won’t tell you that – to get this “valuable” information, you’ll have to go to Japan yourself:-).

You can also drive some of the new Toyota models on a trek nearby for about $3 – sadly; Toyota Crown and Lexus models were not included in the list. Yet a somewhat strange-looking “car of the future” was included and it drew huge crowds.
