Biking and Whitewater Rafting in Ohiopyle

From Two Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings in Somerset, United States on Jun 08 '05

The Great Allegheny Passage is a 152 mile bike, and walking trail that is projected to join with a system that will lead to Washington, D.C. We enjoy biking, but we are not the sort of avid bikers that would love this trail, it's a little beyond our strength. Ohiopyle is some distance south of Somerset and one of the

major stopovers on the trail, and a center for white water rafting as well. Based on what we saw we are sure bikers and rafters would love this place. Consult your rafting and biking friends. We enjoyed just looking and walking a bit of the trail. What we saw was beautiful. For those who are less active but enjoy beautiful scenery the town of Ohiopyle and its dam and railroad bridge, transformed into a walking-hiking trail, is well worth a visit.
