205687 5 Location 448045 The Hotel Pulitzer is a very nice hotel. It is part of the Luxery Collection from Starwood, and boasts a cafe, bar, and restaurant. It is situated in an old canal house, making for a interesting look into the life of Old Amsterdam. The hall wind around up and down, and rooms are situated up and down and around various stairways. The halls on the main floor are lined with modern art, and the hotel surrounds 2 courtyards. The courtyards are very beautiful, reminding me of a Greek garden. The hotel is right on one of the main canals, so it is about a 5 minute walk to the Dam, and the street has a wide variety of shops and cafes. There is a problem with mice, but that is to be expected in the old buildings. Also, the beds are not the most comfortable and you need to make sure you leave the air conditioning on at night. But overall the manager and staff are very accommedating here and eager to help. You get very good chocolate at night and in the morning, a dessert/breakfast type snack called strupwaffles (very good! My sister's new favorite. It's also very fun to say) I have stayed in many hotels in my life and this is one of the best.
