383061 4 Location 551128 Located just a short walk from Turtle Island (at low tide, although you are not allowed to set foot on it), Sunset resort is pretty much a local village, converted into backpacker lodging (as most of these resorts are). We stayed in small dorm with bunkbeds and mosquito nets. The electricity turned off around 8pm (two hours after it got dark). They provided food, which was usually local vegetables, fruit and meat, set out buffet style. At night, most people play cards until the lights go out. Then, everyone just goes to sleep. Not much night life in Fiji! The best beach and reef for snorkeling, is found a short hike away, where the blue lagoon was filmed. Ferries dock nearby, but they have their own section of the beach. Snorkeling here is fabulours - this is where we saw baracuda and sea snakes. Several feet out the reef is amazing and filled with so many types of fish and sea creatures.
