385105 4 Location 545870 <p>Attended two days of the Taste of Tasmania, a&nbsp;festival held every year during the week straddling New Years Day.&nbsp; The event was located in the&nbsp;Sullivan's Cove area of downtown Hobart, and&nbsp;included&nbsp;71 stalls&nbsp;representing "Tasmania's finest purveyors of food and wine."</p><p>Huge variety of food and drink, from&nbsp;Persian to Moroccan to Indian to Italian (all featuring Tasmanian produce).&nbsp; I especially enjoyed the salmon rosti from Rosti Chalet, the chilli mussels from Waji's, the&nbsp;oyster beer from Dark Isle Brewery, and the dessert from Summer Puddings of Tasmania.</p><p>The value for the dollar was not stellar, but the selection and ambience more than made up for this.&nbsp; (In these regards, the festival was a bit like the international food festival&nbsp;at Walt Disney World in Orlando.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;difference here though is that the&nbsp;food is probably&nbsp;more authentic or true to the&nbsp;location it represents.</p><p>Besides the food, there were a number of side attractions, including the Australian Freestyle Footbag (not "Hackey Sack, which is a brand name) Championship, an area&nbsp;to hone your cricket skills with plastic bats, and the harbor itself.&nbsp;</p> 2007-01-04T19:52:34-08:00 948142087 2006-12-30T16:00:00-08:00 0 18 146507 3252622 385105 0 184479 0.0 2006-12-30T16:00:00-08:00 Published 0.0 Tastes great, not less filling 2007-01-24T18:45:31-08:00 93227 0
