228552 2 Location 499181 <p>We went back to our hotel in the evening to check up on some emails as we have been travelling with our laptop.&nbsp;I still don’t understand the inconsistency but as I had ranted in my previous post, Westin Osaka is a rip off and definitely the worst when it comes to nickel and diming their customers for every little service. As I’ve mentioned before our Starwood membership allows us free Wi-Fi access and access to the fitness facility.&nbsp;Westin Nagoya which we had been staying in previous to Osaka and all other Westins that we had stayed at in the past for that matter always provided such complimentary service but yup this place was a joke!&nbsp;We called down to ask if the gym was complimentary and they said it was but upon check out they charged us $25USD/day.&nbsp;They allege that they explained this to my non-Japanese speaking husband at which I told them that I had called in Japanese ahead of time to clarify as he did not speak the language. To my dismay they refused to reverse the charge and forced us to pay up.&nbsp;I made a stink about it and the front desk girl actually admitted to the fact that she gets yelled at a lot by many Starwood members who find the inconsistency unfair.&nbsp;$25 is not a big deal but the principle behind it is what pissed me off!&nbsp;As you may guess, they were charging double of what you would pay for internet connection so we decided to find an internet café instead of feeding this hotel any more money. What was ironic is that as we were checking emails at the internet café, I received a survey questionnaire by Westin on my opinion of the Osaka hotel.&nbsp;Needless to say, I maxed out the line space on the comments section!&nbsp;If you want to be taken for a ride at a mediocre hotel that pretends to be upscale with their faux furnishings, pretentious and unhelpful staff, stay at the Westin Osaka!&nbsp;I love the Westin and we even own a vacation property through them so I don’t like to speak bad of them but this place was awful!
