So after learning the hard way, we got a bus schedule and finally made the bus on time!  We also got really lucky since it stopped raining right when we left the hostel, and when they say rainy season, they aint joking around.

After a trip through the dreaded city of San Jose, which actually wasn't as bad as everyone told us, at least as a stopever, we ended up in the National Park area of Manuel Antonio.  We checked into a nice hotel, near the beach, with reasonable rates (things are quite expensive here), and started walking the path up to our room when we see a bunch of birds totally freaking out and squawking like crazy. Gilad takes a quick look to see that they are squawking at a pretty good sized snake, and we decide to tell the hotel receptionist just to let him know the deal.  Well this guy sees the snake, and actually takes a closer look to realize that the snake is in the middle of eating one of the birds (the feet were sticking out of the snake's mouth) and starts freaking out.  So there we are, the birds are freaking out, the hotel receptionist is freaking out, the bird being eaten is freaking out (that's right he was still making noise inside the snake), one hotel guest says that the snake is definitely poisinous since it has a triangular head, and then another hotel guest comes out with a machate, ready to chop the snake up and mentions, "Oh, this isn't the boa constrictor we saw last night..."  It is very interesting how "Wow there is wildlife everywhere in Costa Rica" can turn into "There is freaking wildlife everywhere in Costa Rica! We get the point already...." We decided twice in two days, not a good sign, and checked in across the street to a very nice place, with beach access, a pool, a kitchen, and AC.  The best part was the next morning after a good nights sleep, waking up and seeing a monkey with a baby monkey on its back climbing the trees outside the bedroom...and no crazy snakes..yet....

It rained really hard most of Shabbat, which Sarit got stuck in during her morning stroll on the beach, but monkeys, birds, and crazy iguanas that looked like dinosaurs were all over the place.  We went to the National Park on Sunday (today) which is really awesome.  It is one big jungle surrounded by beautifyl beaches and the weather was perfect!

Tomorrow we are off to Uvita for some more beach action.  Pura Vida....
