Pucon is very much a town about tourisim and it's economy is dependent on that fact. Like I mentioned previously, this is an outdoors/adventure type persons paradise. Pretty much anything you could think of doing is close to Pucon (kayaking-all types, rapids, fishing, hiking, biking, hang gliding, parasailing, horseback riding, camping, etc.). Since the town is at the base of one of the most ACTIVE volcanos in the world ( Villarrica), there are hot springs galore that one can take advantage of after a long hard day of activity (however, I did not). But if you just want to relax and enjoy the scenary and take some scenic drives or maybe go to a casino or eat out there is plenty to choose from that is low key. Pucon is very much unlike many of the other small towns/villages that you will see in Chile. It is quaint with many of the buildings made of timbers, the inside of stores and shops tastefully painted and decorated. I just loved it! If you ever go to Chile during there summer...this is a must see town and region.
P.s. I did not drink out of the Pucon beer pitcher...I only took the picture ;o)
