TRAVEL BLOG ENTRY

Arriving in Port Maquarie we thought that we slum it up and sleep out in our classy $30 tent. Only to find that it was about $3 more expensive for a dorm. The area was really it had its own swimming pool and the other guy in our dorm was really nice. On the first day we found the joy of a "bag of booze" commonly known as box of wine. Which was fun!
Seeing as all the locals were doing it and it looked like fun we thought we would try fishing. We got a line, bait, a licence, a box of wine and were ready to go. About a minuite later we had lost the hook and weight so ended up just drinking the wine. Anyway a fun night was had and we decided to try again the next day.
Learning from our lesson we bought a whole load of hooks and weights and tried again. We caught one small fish in about 3 hours, so gave up. Still, it was a bit of a laugh.
During the days we went to a koala hospital and the billabong wild animal park. The park was cool, we stroked a koala, fed kangaroos and saw a wombat. They are actually really big. The photo doesn't do him justice!
Port Maquarie is quite cool, not alot to do but a nice place to relax.
