I did wonder sometimes why I would want to go on holiday for so long and do the "normal" things on the other side of the world.  I mean I could just have travelled 200 miles in england couldnt I, if I had wanted the break from home.  After all kids dont really care where they are.

But I can see already that this is a much different, and also an exciting experience for both us adults and the kids.  We did the normal stuff yesterday, like visited a park, and went to the shops.  But it was great as the weather was hot, unlike miserable england, and we all saw new stuff and did new things.

Matthew loved the park, he is becoming very adventurous with his climbing now - walking across the wooden bridges without a care in the world.  The people were really friendly down at the park, and it came across like a great lifestyle they were leading.  But I suppose in the summer in england you see a similiar thng with the mothers all meeting up.  The kids also were very well behaved, I was slightly anxious to start with that there were a lot of big kids, as I thought Matthew might get hurt - but I neednt have cared, the kids just played round him, and he never once got in the way.

In the evening we went to Cottesloe Beach for fish and chips.  They do fish griled here, which makes it a bit healthier.  Again there was a park where Matthew spent most of the time.  The sunset was gorgeous, watched by quite a few couples on this Valentines Day.
