Ah a hot shower such simple pleasures!
We go straight to the Gloucester tree before brekkie to avoid the crowds, theres loads of exotic birds about, really tame too.
Harriet and Jenny climb the tree, its 60m high with big pegs for you to climb up right to the top... I take photos theres no way i going up there! It takes them about an hour to go up and down, and they look pretty knackered now.
We have brekkie then go on a tourist drive upto Beedulup Falls they are vitually running dry though so not to spectacular. We then go on Heartbreak Trail which has little lookouts along the river, its offroad again though - getting tedious these unsealed roads now! Not much wildlife along the river though there is supposed to be Marron in the river. We find one view point where you can walk 2km to thr Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree, its through the woods and there's million of flies about. When we get there Harriet climbs this tree too, its 75m and sways 1.5m either way in the wind, there's 4 ladders after 130 spiral pegs to reach the top. I photograph again... crazy girl! On the way back to the van we see a small owl in the tree.
Its almost 4 so we quick get off the dirt road and go over to Lavender Berry Farm and enjoy a nice honey ice cream and raspberry float, it must be about 40c outside... its roasting!
We call into see Cascades after ice cream, they're pretty dry too but still quite pretty. We sit down and chat about the day n stuff and rest our hot feet in the river pools...until... i notice about 30 lil leeches on my feet... yuk! the mozzies are starting to come out now too so we boot up and drive towards Augusta, we finally get to a nice little campsite on the 10, its a dry dunny and no shower but its free most importantly. I swear its still about 30c and it don't look like we gonna get much sleep. We attach the mozzy net to the side of the van so we can sleep with the door open but there's just no wind... its sooo sticky! Harriet has the giggles and its too hot to sleep, eventually drifted off and woke up at 5am freezing cold but couldn't get van door shut cos the mattresses had slipped accross.
