Small Italian restaurant just over the bridge in Pateley Bridge.

I've wanted to work this into my schedule for about a week or so since I'd heard about it from my landlord.  Of course, the main reason I wanted to was that they had Timothy Taylor's Landlord Ale.  S'posed to be a very good local beer.

I didn't have a reservation but they said they could fit us in in about a 1/2 hour.  A friend from work and I sat in a little waiting area near the door, figured we could do the guy thing and drink beer and hang out.  The waitresses who were buzzing around, eventually buzzed over to ask if we wanted a drink.  We ordered two pints of Landlord -- My new all-time favorite british beer.... :)

Two lovely seafood appetizers (I don't get much seafood at home, do I Serina?), a "milano" pizza, penne pasta and bottle of Spanish wine later (I take the opportunity to try Spanish cuisine of any sort, esp wine, whenever I can) and we're done and headed home.

Overall, a really nice evening out.  Everything was good; the food, the wine, the beer, the place, the price -- everything.  Great little restaurant.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been if I was sharing it with my honey-bunny.  :)  This is the type of restaurant that I would want to own and if I did, I'd run it just like this one was run.  Maybe I'm extra optimistic cuz it's my birthday (well, tomorrow is) but I like this place and would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone.

First, Happy Birtday. Second, seafood is overrated, who needs it at home? :) Third, sounds like a lovely, romantic meal with your co-worker. ;) I hope he didn't pressure you for anything even though he bought you dinner.
