We stayed at home, in Parksville for little over a month. Most of the nights were spent living at our parents homes, and visiting with family members. We did, however, occasionally sneak off to explore the beautiful island and enjoy the scenery while we were there.

Tofino, B.C., is a definite must see place if you are on the island. I have grown up two hours away and it still remains one of my favourite places to viist. The solitude, atmosphere and world class scenery make it what it is, a quiet local hang out in the winter, and an tourist attraction in the summer. We ended up staying at the Best Western Tin Wis. This hotel was even more then we bargained for. We were hoping, fingers crossed, to get a beach front room. Luckily to our amazement, they are all beachfronts!! To say the least, we were excited upon arrival. The only downfall to staying there was check-in wasn't until 3 pm. We arrived around 11am, and drove in to see how many people it looked like were occupying rooms. We only spotted three vehicles in the parking lot. We decieded to go for a walk on the beach then see if we could check in a little early. We did so, but got a little attitude at the front desk about arrivng early. I could understand if it was in the summer busy months, but it was January, and very quiet, so I was a little taken back. Nontheless, our stay was a good one. And Tofino once again held its top stop on places to viist for myself.

The next spot we took off to was Victoria, B.C. We just made this into a day trip, and it was well worth it. The shops downtown are so interesting, the harbor stunning and the old buidlings and architect are breathtaking. We spent the day walking around the downtown core, finding myself some interesting shoes, and starting some what of a shoe fetish. Who new I possessed such an interest in the fine fashion of shoes. While our stomachs started to rumble we made a fast break for our favourite lunch spot in town, the Thai Bistro. As usual the small location seemed to hold a fair number of poeple due it's superbe flavour. The food was a bargain, and we left with our stomachs feeling complete. I can't wait to go there again!

After a month back in our home town, I felt myeslf growing somewhat impatient for the road that lies ahead. We were anxious to return to the road, and our van that we call home for the majority of the year. Althought our visit was longer than normal it was nice to spend time with family, and see friends whom we havn't seen in a while

. After some careful thought, it is hard to consider where ones home exactly is. I guess you could call my home, the Chevy Astro. A home on wheels.
