We landed in Paris at about 5:30 am and then had to find our way through another confusing airport. We finally figured out which direction to go in and moving in a large pack, headed for customs. The customs traffic in Paris was much more relaxed than in Prague. The officers barely looked us over before waiving each of us into yet another corridor. When we actually emerged in the airport we decided that we should celebrate our arrival in Europe.
A group of my newfound friends and I wandered into a cafe in the airport and had champagne for breakfast along with quite a few toasts to each other and the adventures that are to come.
We made it easily through security as well and settled in to wait for our next flight to leave. It is amazing what you can find to talk about with people you hardly know. Especially when none of you have slept and are in need of a shower. The next leg of my flight went well and we made it safely to Rome.
