I woke up at 6:30 CST/7:30 EST - my usual wake up time for service. Can't even sleep in on vacation! ;) I was able to be lazy though. I propped up the pillows and laid in bed reading for a while. Dad was kind enough to cook breakfast and wash dishes this morning. We got ready, then drove over to another section of the resort. They have a boardwalk that goes over the marsh to a restaurant and beach area. It looks out over the bay. Beautiful spot. Oh, by the way, the temperature today was around 75 degrees with lots of sunshine. Gorgeous!
From there we drove over to Panama City Beach to St Andrews State Park. (It's only a few minutes drive to the beach from here.) We parked and got our first glimpse of the Gulf of Mexico. :) Beautiful blue water and white sandy beaches! We took a short walk on the beach, then went to a picnic area by the water to eat lunch. After eating, we stopped at Gator Lake looking for alligators. None were to be found, but we did have a nice walk along the nature trail by the lake. There were some cool twisty trees. From there, we went over to a boat dock/pier that looked out over the water to where we're staying. After leaving the park, we drove down the beach road and stopped at a Wal-Mart to get some things (Always gotta make a stop at Wally World!), then headed back to the room for a little while. We chilled out and relaxed. Dad and I downloaded our pictures of the day onto the laptop.
We headed out for dinner at a place we saw earlier in the day at Panama City Beach called Scampy's. Everything was delicious!! I had Blackened Jumbo Shrimp with a baked potato and salad. I love me some shrimp!! I tasted Dad's tuna as well. It was scrumptious. As we were leaving, I saw that their shirts said, "Happy Scamper, I ate at Scampy's, etc." So I said, "I'm a happy scamper! Are you a happy scamper??" LOL We came back to the room and did nothing. I was starting to get sleepy. I read some, then crawled into my oh-so-comfortable bed. I was asleep by 10 CST. =)
