“A perfect end to our perfect holiday” |
The final stint of our journey took us past the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, and along historic Route 66 to Palm Springs. We spent the last two days of our six month trip lounging around the pool, topping up our tans and readying ourselves for our return to reality.
But Dan had one final surprise in store.
On our last evening we took a cable car ride 8000 ft up into the mountains behind Palm Springs from where we watched the sun set across the Coachella Valley. Once we had the place to ourselves, Dan dropped down onto one knee, and as he produced the most beautiful Tiffany diamond ring from his pocket, he asked me to marry him.
What a perfect end to our perfect holiday.
