Boat up the Mekong

Three hours later I was on the boat and despite the beautiful scenery I spent the whole day unsuccessfully trying to sleep on the small unforgiving wooden seats. We stopped off for the night in a tiny riverside community and I ate and then slept. The next day was a lot better. The seats were still a bit uncomfortable even just sitting up but I appreciated the views much more. We arrived at the border town for my last night in Laos and the next day I got a bus to Chiang Mai.
