Arrived hot and sweaty but soon chilled out in this really relaxing place. I'm in Oudtshoorn, home to all things ostrich. It has a history of farming the birds, and today restaurants sell their meat and eggs, while shops sell feathers , decorated eggs, dusters, leather and more besides.

The town itself is quiet with tree lined streets with a very laid back feel.It makes a real contrast to Cape Towns bustle.

I took a mini bus trip from the hostel to the top of Swartberg Pass (a mountain range with a height of 1,500mtrs) from there it was cycling back down for the next 30km.Fantastic scenery . Shame i chose a day with temperatures over 40c ! Never again.

Visited Cango Wildlife Ranch which differs in one aspect to other similar places; you can get in with the lions, cheetahs and alligators.Well, it seemed like a good idea!

Apparently it's the only place in the world you can get in with croc's. Theres probably a good reason for that!

I had to visit an Ostrich farm whilst here.Alas i'm too heavy to ride one. You have to be under 6 stone or something stupid.
I can't believe i've been away less than 2 weeks. So much has happened it seems a lifetime.
The strange thing is that you make friends with people one day and they've moved on the next.I think that will take some getting used to.I'm not sure if its worse when you've known people for a bit longer and then have to go your separate ways.Either way it's a bummer!
