I don't even know where to begin in describing the Super Cao Nguyen. It's just an awesome place to eat and buy groceries. The food is cheap and if you're into fresh sea food, you can pick your own lobster or cat fish! I've been buying food and groceries from this Asian super store since 1995! It began with a small store and then the management moved into this huge building that houses Super Cao Nguyen and other Asian business. It's located at the Asian district in OKC, OK.
Let me start with the freshly made sushi that's available every day. My favorites are the inaris and California rolls. You can also ask the sushi chef to make a variety sushi pack for you if the ones available are not to your liking.
Next is the sugar cane juice! I've been dying to find fresh sugar cane juice and when I found out that SCN had it, I bought two large cups! It's sweet, fresh, and with a little orange slice that's crushed with the sugar cane, the taste was just out of this world.
Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, SCN serves vegetarian meal. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all the soy based product that they have. They're dirt cheap too! $3.95 will get you white rice, one entree, and one side dish with generous serving. They have fried tilapia daily and on weekends you'll find fried crabs.
The Vietnamese sandwich is my personal favorite for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With 10 varieties to choose from, you can't go wrong. I usually buy the grilled chicken and sardine. The baguette used is baked daily and the cilantro and preserved carrot slices make the sandwiches mouth watering and you would want to go for seconds! Trust me, get at least two so that you don't have to drive back for more.
There are tons of other oriental foods available at the SCN. If you're in the market of something new or just want to challenge your taste buds, Super Cao Nguyen will not let you down!
