Nyika Plateau was amazing! We were taken by a guy who spoke loads of languages and who brought his cute 2 year old son with us. He cooked all our emals (delicious and mainly grown in his garden), put up tents for us, drove us to see zebra and antelope and had lots of books and information on the stuff we were seeing. We went on horseriding safari which was fun and exciting. The scenery on the plateau is really smooth rolling hills like something in Scotland, the weather is colder aswell as you're so high up.

On the first day we were driven from our lodge in Mzuzu to Rumphi where we had lunch, then we had a long very bumpy drive over tiny roads to get right into the centre of the park. The scenery changed loads and we saw animals on the way like bushpig, some zebra far away, antelope, a very strange bird called a bustard. The campsite had an amazing view and hot showers! The watchman there keeps a fire lit to heat the water.

The second day we started with horse riding which was pretty scary at first-the ground is so not flat but actually it was fun and we could get really close to antelope and stuff on them. We had a delicious lunch, a t-bone steak from Zambia and salad and boiled potatoes, then headed out on a game drive. Our man thought the best way to see the animals was to drive to nearby then get out of the car and walk towards them, so we did that, the 2 year old was quite brave I must say! or stupid :-s  Antelope are amazing! There was huge eland and tiny duikers, really beautiful animals. When it got dark the stars were absolutelyamazing, the sky was absolutely filed right down to the horizon, and you could see lighter patches where there were so many stars.

The drive to Livingstonia was long but really beautiful, and we saw zebras very close up. They crossed the road right infront of us and then stood looking at us for a while. They seemed really curious, they didn't let us get too close but they didn't run. We arrived in Livingstonia just as it was getting dark (6pm)
