"Dad, I have decided to come with you..."

My father, Bert, has been an avid motorcyle fan and rider all of his adult life.  Last year, at the grand old age of 74 and after two ankle reconstructions and a knee replacement, he bought himself a Harley Davidson. With  confidence building trips around the Suffolk countryside under his belt, conversations quickly turned to grand motorcycling tours and his dream of riding a Harley across America on the "Mother Road" started to take shape.

Without hesitation, my husband, Chris, agreed to join him on his trip and like little boys planning an adventure, they started to map out the logistics of their journey.

Not being one to miss out, and finding myself with some time on my hands, I  agreed to join them.  With the least road experience of the three, and not having been on a motorbike for over 7 years (and never on a Harley) I found myself uttering those immortal words...

Route 66, here we come!

I'm beginning to feel homesick as I read about your American journey. Esp love the bibles at the B&B, 6 course breakfast including pud and the highway patrol (yes, they do caress their guns like women). Brillant stuff. Kelly & Co
