6/13 - 6/19

Since the last entry the only exciting thing that has happened has been celebrating my birthday. What a better place for it to take place then in Australia! Wednesday we woke up and didnt do a whole lot until later in the day. A few of the family were leaving on my birthday, so we decided to start celebrating it that night. The next day we woke up to the girls running in the room throwing balloons all over and giving me the sweetest cards ever. There are so many inside jokes that we have created since being here and I have picked up the nickname Chunna. It is a long story, but lets just say it has to do with the way the Australians pronounce their T's. That name stuck on early in the semester and that is pretty much what I am called all the time now. The point of my story is that they made homemade cards and one of them was a chunna fish. All day that day it was so nice to walk all over campus and have everyone wishing me a happy birthday. It was just sad because I didnt have any of my family here to celebrate with me. I think that this is the only birthday I have spent away from home. Anyway once we finally got out of bed we all went out for a birthday pub lunch at Mary's. It was so nice to be able to just sit around and have everyone there at once.

After the pub me and Amy got dropped off in the square just to walk around and do some shopping. While I was there I bought myself a new birthday outfit (jacket) to wear out that night. That day we also got our 15 minutes of fame and were on the television. Apparently there was some event going on, and me and Amy just happened to be there. Once the boys were done with their finals and we got back from shopping we all got ready to go out. We decided to go see Oceans 13 for my bday so at about 6:30 or so we went to the theater to see that. We all started drinking while watching the movie, and to be honest I couldnt tell you one thing that the movie was about. I was laughing so hard the entire time and had the best night. After the movie we walked over to the bars and continued on with the night. Everyone bought me so many drinks and we just danced the night away. I am so upset though because my video got ruined. We took the video camera out with us that night, so that I would have something to remember it by, and somehow the DVD got erased. There was about half an hour of shots from the movies, bars, and people just wishing me happy birthday. I was so upset when it got deleted, but unfortunately I cant do anything about it. After we left the bars that night I apparently had two Kebabs and went home about 3 or so. The next morning we woke up and since it was still technically my bday back in the states they took me out for another bday pub lunch. I love the time difference! It was by far the best birthday I have ever had, I am just disappointed that I dont have the video from it. The rest of the week has pretty much been dedicated to studying and watching movies. On Monday Ginger, Kelly, and myself did take a trip to Nimbin to go see the markets. We walked around all day and just relaxed and looked around. Nimbin is the craziest place that I have ever been to in my life and they have the most interesting people! Right now I should be studying for my final tomorrow, but I figured I needed a break and would get this done.

It is so sad right now on campus. Everyone is leaving one by one, and I am having to say good bye to people constantly. Ginger and Josh leave tomorrow, Kelly leaves on Friday, the guys all leavce on Saturday, and then me and Amy are gone Monday. We head to Fiji Monday and then will be back in the states on the 1st of July. I cant wait to see you all and I hope that you are enjoying the warm weather, because I cant wait for it!!
